Essential Beauty and Makeup Tips for Teenagers

Adolescence is a time of change. Young people begin to express their personality through outfits and makeup for teens, alternating extreme colors with light colors. But often they choose inappropriate products for their age.

Teenagers’ skin is fresh and young, without any wrinkles. If cosmetics are chosen incorrectly, the skin loses its brightness, becoming tarnished. Certain products can worsen the acne and other specific problems.

Mothers should have a discussion with their daughters, explaining them the advantages and disadvantages of young skin. A visit to the dermatologist can provide a precise diagnosis on the type of skin and its specific problems.

Teenagers’ skin is often very sensitive. Therefore, it is recommended to be used non- allergenic products. There are cosmetics especially conceived for teenagers. They have a light texture and contain less oil than the others. Because young people have a special beauty, the makeup for teens should be natural, emphasizing their features. The most suitable colors are those similar to the shade of skin and eyes, shades of pink, coral, brown or gray.

Always choose a foundation cream without oil, which contains extract of tea tree or salicylic acid, in order to protect your skin. After applying the foundation, you can use a light powder to control the sebum excess and to fix the makeup.

Be careful, because if the powder is used excessively, it can block the skin pores. Use eyeshadows that match the color of your eyes. Apply a makeup powder, both on the eyelids and cheeks, because creamy textures are oily and can affect your skin.

If your skin has a warm shade, use a peach blush; if your skin is pale, apply discrete pink tones. You can define slightly the eyebrows with a discrete shade, similar to the natural color. Use a brush or a special mascara to fix their shape.

There are many types of mascara on the market, from those who create the impression of longer eyelashes and volume to waterproof mascara. Before choosing the right one for you, think about what type of makeup remover you have. Try to use a product suitable not only for your eyes, but also for your face. Use shades of dark brown if you have black eyes and choose a color for mascara.

Use a solid lipstick. Although the gloss can look delicious, it may contain a lot of oils; thus, the result won’t last as long.

Finally, don’t forget to remove your makeup every morning and evening. Use a makeup remover and a tonic solution without alcohol. The makeup for teens requires special makeup removers. And when it comes to winding down, don’t forget the importance of getting your beauty sleep!  Getting at least seven and a half hours of sleep will help do more for your beauty than just about anything.
